Trainee Engineer​

Hannah left school with 4x A* (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science), achieving a Gold Medal in the Physics Olympiad, UK Maths Challenge and UK Bebras Challenge.  

 

She has joined Cadenza for her gap year prior to starting a degree in General Engineering MEng at the University of Sheffield.

In her time so far with Cadenza, she has helped build a complex asset cost model, a preliminary rail journey time calculator, and carbon cost calculator. She has also prepared presentations and led a research report.

Trainee Engineer​

Ben left school with 4x A* (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Design Technology), and has since completed his first year of General Engineering MEng at The University of Sheffield.

Since joining Cadenza, Ben has created a train journey time model, including considerations for different train classes, gradients, and defensive driving. 

​

He's also created a national railway asset database, and worked with the client team to manage the data collection process. 

​

In preparation for a site visit, Ben created a multi-platform app to streamline the data collection process, geolocating the photos and notes, including an option to dictate the notes instead of typing.
