The Office for Road and Rail (ORR) required a short term secondment to provide maternity cover for a member of their civil engineering team and support to the asset management lead.

Cadenza provided technical expert support for the ORR’s review of the Control Period 5 (CP5) Civils Adjustment Mechanism and asset management monitoring functions.

We provided monthly analysis of asset stewardship measures for each discipline, using advanced Excel skills to reveal new insights into Network Rail’s performance, creating a new spreadsheet model and guidance to ensure that the additional insights continued when the cover was no longer needed.

We provided technical analysis of structures and stations asset policies, and review of selected major stations asset management plans.  We also provided  some ad hoc support to the Department for Transport to review the Essex Thameside stations asset management plans and provide a robust technical response to the train operating company.

Cadenza’s technical knowledge and asset management experience enabled the ORR civil engineering and asset management teams to continue to function and improve during the maternity cover period.

ORR: “[Cadenza] provides a first class service, [it] stepped in at short notice and hit the ground running picking up a complicated piece of analysis in support of our periodic review work and added value at every stage of the process. I have no hesitation in recommending [Cadenza] to any organization.”
