Unauthorised subsystems (stations) review for the ORR
Rail Advisory Group for the ORR, 2022-2023
Cadenza provided strategic thinking and analysis with experience of development of railway stations for Third Parties, to identify potential causes of unauthorised entry into service
The Office for Rail and Road (ORR) had identified several instances of stations being brought into use without authorisation under the Railway Interoperability Regulations (RIR).

It wanted to understand how this had come about, whether there were other examples of actual or potential unauthorised stations coming into use, and what might be done to prevent this situation occurring in future.

Rail Advisory Group (RAG) invited Cadenza to support it with providing Third-Party stations development experience. Cadenza assisted in developing the strategy, holding interviews, developing the graphics shown, and writing the report.
RAG: “The review and 'polishing' of the interim and final reports was excellent and the contribution to discussions within the team and with ORR
A pleasure working with Cadenza and the professional and open approach.
The difficult subject matter required an innovative approach and [Cadenza] provided insightful input to the successful delivery of the project.”
